Special Offer: Make The Nimbus Your Next Book-Club Pick and I'll Join You!

In the month since The Nimbus has been out in the world, I've been very happy to hear from a number of people who've told me that they're planning to read the novel with their book clubs. You won't be surprised to hear that this strikes me as an excellent idea, and not only for the obvious commercial reason. Though The Nimbus touches on some obscure corners of religious and academic history (hello, John of Garland! hello, Soame Jenyns!) at heart it's a book about marriage, parenting, graduate school, and religion, all subjects that are ripe for lively and vigorous conversation.
To help with discussions of The Nimbus, the excellent people at Henry Holt (my excellent publisher) have assembled this book-club guide, which you should feel free to download, distribute, and employ or ignore as you see fit:
But recently I realized that I can do even better than that. For a limited time, if you and your book club buy ten or more new copies of The Nimbus, in any format—hardcover, ebook, audiobook—I'll join your book club for at least twenty minutes of a virtual Q+A (i.e., by Zoom or speakerphone).* I'll also send signed and personalized bookplates for everyone in your book club.
If this sounds like something you and your club might interested in, send me an email at robertpbaird at gmail dot com, and we can work out the details from there. (If you don't have enough people in your book club for a virtual Q+A but would still like some bookplates, please don't hesitate to ask—I've got plenty.)
*Proof of purchase may be required, and we'll need to find a mutually acceptable time to make it happen. But I have faith.
